For golf enthusiasts Lanhydrock Golf Club is on the outskirts of town. A short walk takes you to Bodmin and Wenford Railway where you can experience the golden age of steam.

The once notorious Bodmin Gaol, now a tourist attraction and restaurant, is just over a mile away, as are a variety of leisure facilities including tennis, swimming and squash.

For dining out and special occasions there is a wide selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets in and around Bodmin town.

Further afield you will discover golden beaches, rugged coastline, picturesque villages, historic buildings and famous gardens a short drive away.

Ancient fishing villages and harbours such as Padstow, Polperro, Fowey, Port Isaac, Boscastle and Tintagel dot the spectacular coastline, while sandy beaches provide a mecca for bathing, surfing and bodyboarding.

Close by are the world famous Eden Project (10 miles) and the beautiful Lost Gardens of Heligan (18 miles).
